That's the one thing I notice in my dashcam vids. People have commented on it before, as well. But between the fisheye lens, and the high behind-the-rearview-mirror mounting, the camera tends to skew the view.
The view today was of ANOTHER BMW cutting me off after passing me dangerously.
In case you don't want to watch the video or read the description:
I was doing 40-42 in a 35 past an industrial zone swarming (usually) with garbage trucks and whatnot, since its by the city dump. Minding my own business, I see a silver BMW 3 series come up behind me, then pass me without signalling. THEN, she cuts me off also without signalling. My speed never changed. She HAD to have been doing 50+. Luckily, no semi trucks came out from any of the many driveways on the road, nor were there any oncoming.
And, to top it all off, the intersection just a few hundred feet after the video ends was a RED LIGHT. So she gained ZERO ground by passing me like an asshat.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

I know what you mean about the camera. I've spent a while looking at videos with "objects closer than they appear because wide-angle lens" and thought it was a bunch of crap. Now I have a wide angle lens mounted at the top of my windshield, and I see what everyone meant.

Yeah, the cameras do totally skew things.
You also have to take into account tolerance. Driving behaviors and lane change/following distances that are normal in NOVA or Boston will cause people in Seattle or OKC to flip the fuck out. My wife cannot grasp this and frightens passengers and other drivers whenever she travels.
Of course, nowhere is it acceptable to double yellow...double especially when there's oncoming traffic and stoplights around.
